Guest Posting

I welcome guest posting! Join me on my feminist journey :)

Why guest post?

  • Share you experiences with other women (and men!)
  • Explore your own feminist beliefs
  • Drive traffic to your blog, linked-in (if you’re job hunting), business, or whatever

Here are a few ideas I’d love to see in a guest post:

  • Give me insight to your industry!
What shady stuff happens to you and other women you work with?
  • Sharing Personal Information
A tricky way to get people to like you.  People like people more when they know something about them and share something in common.
  • Your experience re-entering the workforce
    This can be super difficult
  • Your experience with major financial transactions (buying cars, homes, etc)
For example: the guy who showed the house we planned to rent didn’t shake my hand.  Not when we got there or after we’d looked around.  My boyfriend (the man) got a hand shake.  Super lame.  It just left a bad taste in my mouth.  I considered not renting the place, but how often were we going to see this guy… if ever? I didn’t want his lack of respect / professionalism to ruin the deal.  We’ve enjoyed living there and have had a good experience otherwise, so I know I made the right choice.  Still, that could have ruined the deal.
The lesson: don’t be that guy!
  • Did you Know? Post Ideas
Historical tidbits of info about how women were viewed, treated, or their place in society that would be considered ridiculous (at least by the youngest generation) today.
  • Welcome to Undercover Feminist

My name is Kelly Seiler. I'm an electrical engineer working in the defense industry. I realized that there was an undercurrent of sexism present at work... no one person or attitude seemed to be the culprit. I've decided to learn more about feminism to help me better combat sexism without damaging my reputation. I consider myself an undercover feminist. I'm a feminist, but I avoid pointing things out directly.

An excellent feminist primer! At 118 pages this one is a quick read, but still jam packed with information. It will change your perspective about what feminism is really about compared to the mass media portrayal.

While not a strictly feminist read, this books has lots of good tips to consider in an office environment.
